February 1, 2021 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 2851 Wallingford Drive that occurred about 5:20 p.m. on November 17, 2020.

The suspect, Trevion Joe Turner (b/m, 21) , is charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court.  A booking photo of Turner is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Kavonte Green, 19, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Burrow and Detective M. Estep reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found Mr. Green in the parking lot.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.

Further investigation and witness statements indicated Green was waiting inside a vehicle when he and a passenger were approached by two male suspects.  One of the suspects opened the vehicle's door and demanded property.  The suspects then fatally shot the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.  The passenger was not injured.

Further investigation identified one suspect as Turner and, on January 28, he was arrested without incident.

Anyone with information in this case or on the identity of the additional suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
