Update: Surveillance Video in Fatal Shooting at 8600 Sterlingshire Street

February 20, 2021 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 8600 Sterlingshire Street about 1:25 p.m. on Feb. 6.  

The person of interest is described as a skinny black male, wearing a blue T-shirt.  Surveillance video of the person of interest, who has not been charged, can be viewed on the HPD YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/JDtpYVwgaLY

The victim is identified as Derrick D. Harvey, Jr., 22.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call to a parking lot at the above address and learned Mr. Harvey had been shot several times.  Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.  Witnesses reported seeing a skinny black male running from the scene and getting into a burnt orange Mitsubishi Eclipse that fled westbound from the location.

Further investigation revealed surveillance video of a person of interest wanted for questioning at this time.
