Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2900 Southwest Freeway

January 25, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 2900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 23).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer N. Duval reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of the freeway at the above address when the driver of an unknown vehicle struck him and did not stop to render aid.  An unknown number of motorists then also struck the male and did not stop.  Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
