Investigation into Shooting at 754 Homer Street

March 4, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 754 Homer Street about 7:40 a.m. today (March 4).

The victim, Latonya Schooler, 43, was transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds to her arm and chest.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives L. Hicks and J. Roberts reported:

Investigators were advised that Ms. Schooler met up with a male suspect about midnight and when the male later found out he was missing money, he accused Schooler of taking it.  The male then drove to the above address and parked his vehicle in the street.  He proceeded to hold Schooler at gunpoint for about two hours, searching her and her belongings for his money.  When the male didn’t find the money, he fired at least three shots at Schooler and then fled the scene in his vehicle.  Paramedics transported Schooler to a hospital.

The suspect is described only as a black male in his 50s driving a black Chrysler 300, with possible 22-inch tire rims.
