Investigation into Shooting at 14805 Grigsby Road

March 29, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 14805 Grigsby Road about 3:05 p.m. on Saturday (March 27).  

The victim, Paige Nicole Alexandra Rogers, 20, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.   

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer B. Cerritos reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address.  A preliminary investigation determined Ms. Rogers and Trevis McCarty were in a dating relationship.  McCarty stated he found a gun outside and brought it in the apartment.  McCarty told investigators he and Rogers were talking about the weapon while in the bedroom and she pulled his shirt.  McCarty stated he accidentally pulled the trigger and shot Rogers in the shoulder.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Rogers to an area hospital.  

Further investigation determined McCarty is currently on parole and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor.  Trevis Deon McCarty (b/m, 21) was subsequently charged with felon in possession of a weapon in the 339th State District Court.  A booking photo of McCarty is attached to this news release.  

At this time, no charges have been filed in the shooting incident, as the investigation is continuing.
