Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7900 Westheimer Road

April 11, 2022 - Houston police have learned a man critically injured in a crash at 7900 Westheimer Road about 11:15 p.m. on April 1 has died.

The identity of the male victim, a pedestrian, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer R. Singleton reported:

A Memorial Villages Police Officer was driving a marked patrol vehicle and attempted to stop a stolen red Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Voss Road and Old Voss Road. The Corolla failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The Corolla was traveling west bound in the 7900 Block of Westheimer Road when it struck the victim crossing the roadway at the Old Farm Road Intersection crosswalk.

The occupants of the Corolla got out of the vehicle at an apartment complex at 2501 Westerland Drive and fled on foot.  Memorial Villages officers arrested one suspect.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center where doctors pronounced him deceased on April 6.

The investigation is ongoing.
