Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 8914 Strathmore Drive

April 14, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 8914 Strathmore Drive about 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday (April 12).

The suspect, Santos Rodriguez, 33, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court.  He is not in custody.  A 2019 booking photo of Rodriguez is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the shooting of Andre Jermond Hamm, 36.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Huerta and C. Brannen reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Hamm suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.  Hamm told officers he was meeting up with Rodriguez, when Rodriguez started shooting.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Hamm to an area hospital in stable condition.

A woman was also in Hamm's vehicle as it was struck by gunfire.  She was not injured.
