Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2200 South State Highway 6

April 18, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2200 South State Highway 6 about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday (April 16).

The identity of the male victim, 47, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dunn and Officer F. Flynn reported:

The victim was operating a gray Honda CMX500 motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound at the above address and struck the rear of a silver Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Highway 6 and Piping Rock Lane.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 48, of the Nissan, and his female passenger, 44 and juvenile male passenger, 5, were not injured.
