April 19, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6500 Sovereign Drive about 12:25 p.m. on Monday (April 18).

The identity of the deceased female, 69, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Luu reported:

The female, a pedestrian, was possibly crossing the street at the above address when she was struck by a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck turning left onto Sovereign Drive from United Drive. Paramedics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.

The unlicensed female driver, 15, stated she stopped at a stop sign before entering the intersection. The driver did not show signs of intoxication. She was questioned and released, pending further investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
