Update: Victim Identified in Fatal Shooting at 6215 Tierwester Street

August 2, 2022 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in the investigation into the fatal shooting of a man at 6215 Tierwester Street about 3:30 p.m. on June 15.

The victim is identified as Terrance Lewis, 20. A photo of Mr. Lewis is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and M. Hughey reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found Lewis in the entry way to an apartment. It appeared he had sustained a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced Lewis deceased at the scene.

Further investigation revealed Lewis was at a co-worker’s apartment cooking food for homeless people. Lewis and his friend work for a non-profit organization that prepares food and feeds the homeless in the city. He was walking back to the apartment after throwing away trash when an unknown male suspect fired shots at Lewis from the parking lot of the complex.

At this time, there is no known motive. Investigators believe individuals who live in the apartment complex can possibly assist in identifying the suspect.
