Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5800 West Sam Houston Parkway South
January 31, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5800 West Sam Houston Parkway South service road (Beltway 8) about 11:45 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 30).
The identity of the male victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer Z. Radcliffe reported:
The victim was driving a gray Toyota Corolla eastbound on Harwin Drive as a blue Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on the Beltway 8 service road. The two vehicles entered the intersection at the above address and collided. At this time, it is unclear which driver had the right of way.
Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The driver and passengers of the Camry were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female driver, 50, of the Camry consented to a blood draw and did not show signs of intoxication.
The investigation is continuing.
