Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 1900 Allen Parkway

October 28, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 1900 Allen Parkway about 2 a.m. on October 15.

The suspect, Matthew Drew Granados, 29, is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 179th State District Court. A booking photo of Granados is attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer J. Best reported:

The victim was operating a motorcycle westbound at the above address when a black Dodge Ram pickup truck driving the wrong way - eastbound in the westbound lanes - struck the motorcycle head on. The pickup truck then struck a light post before coming to a stop. The driver fled on foot from the scene without stopping to render aid. Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the scene.

Further investigation identified Granados as the suspect driver in the crash. He was charged and subsequently arrested on Monday (Oct. 24) by officers with the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Tactical Team.
