December 1, 2023 - The fatal shooting of a male at 10900 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 7:15 a.m. on Thursday (November 30) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Elsbury Jr. and Detective D. Arnold reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call inside a business at the above address and found the male suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators learned an armed security guard for the business discharged his weapon at the male while performing his duties. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was consulted and the case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
