February 10, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 11800 Spring Grove Drive about 12:15 a.m. on October 22, 2022.

The suspect, Jaylen Young, 19, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Sean Trevon Hampton, 21.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detectives G. Zavala, R. Rivera and D. Hobson reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim in the street, outside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the victim, later identified as Mr. Hampton, to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A witness told investigators a black SUV was seen driving northbound on Kirkwood after the shooting.

Further investigation identified Young as the suspect in this case and, on Wednesday (February 8), he was arrested and subsequently charged in this incident.
