February 27, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6200 Westheimer Road about 11:15 p.m. on Friday (February 24).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer J. Johnson reported:

The driver of a gray Toyota 4 Runner was traveling westbound on Westheimer Road at the above address when a pedestrian (victim) stepped into the roadway and attempted to cross the street, not in a crosswalk. The pedestrian was struck and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene. He died not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
