July 3, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 11355 Richmond Avenue about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 1).

The identity of the male, in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The female, in her 40s, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Patterson and N. Henderson reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and learned that a couple, who live at the complex, had an argument.  The female contacted family members to come pick her up.  While waiting on the family members, the couple reconciled.  When the family arrived, they argued with the couple through the front door, urging the female to come out of the apartment. 

A male with the family kicked in the front door of the apartment.  At that time, someone inside the apartment fired shots and struck the male and a female outside the apartment.   

All parties involved were detained and interviewed by detectives.  The investigation is ongoing with no charges filed at this time.
