October 18, 2023 - The fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 7455 Cook Road about 10:30 p.m. on Monday (October 16) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Persad and Detective L. Gonzales reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a townhouse at the above address and as they arrived an unknown male entered the residence. As they approached they found the victim lying near the front entry and sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers then entered the townhome to locate any additional persons. The townhouse was empty and it is believed that anyone inside may have fled through the back of the residence.

Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased.

Further investigation led to the identification and location of two persons of interest. Both persons spoke with homicide detectives.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the case will be presented to a grand jury for review.
