Investigation into Shooting at 7600 Southwest Freeway

January 29, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of two women at 7600 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 12:30 a.m. last Friday (January 26).  

The identity of the deceased male, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier reported:  

HPD patrol officers and homicide detectives responded to an emergency call regarding three shooting victims who had been transported by private vehicle to a hospital at the above  address.  One man sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound.  Doctors pronounced him deceased on Saturday (January 27).  Two women, 18 and 19, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg and were treated and released.  

A preliminary investigation determined the victims were traveling southbound on the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft when an unknown suspect(s) in a gray or silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck fired shots at them.
