Professional Standards Command
The Professional Standards Command is man-aged by an assistant chief, who reports to the Chief of Police. Its staff manages Risk Manage-ment and Internal Affairs Division.
The Professional Standards Command is charged with maintaining the police department’s integ-rity. This is accomplished by conducting audits outside the normal chain of command to ensure an objective review of procedures and activities, investigating misconduct complaints against em-ployees, and facilitating training and guidance to both classified and civilian personnel.
