Council Member Wanda Adams

 

One would be challenged to find a more committed public servant than Wanda Adams.  While serving three terms on Houston City Council, Adams spent most of her time advocating for her district’s fair share of the city’s revenue and responding to the needs of her constituency.  A native Houstonian who hails from the same streets as the legendary Barbara Jordan and Mickey Leland, Adams says that her heart has long been with the people who long for their elected officials to offer them the best quality of life available.  The youngest of four children, Adams became a basketball standout at Kashmere High School.  Her dedication and skill afforded her the opportunity to receive an athletic scholarship to Texas Southern University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs ...

2011 Playgrounds Without Limits

 

A Festival of Abilities and ribbon cutting for the new Vale-Asche Foundation Playground Without Limits took place on April 16, 2011. Festivities included: Wheelchair Tennis, Beep Baseball, The River Recital, Wheelchair Basketball, and Line Dancing. A special ribbon cutting ceremony for the Vale-Asche Foundation Playground Without Limits took place with Mayor Annise Parker, District D Council Member Wanda Adams, H.P.A.R.D. Director Joe Turner, and Playgrounds Without Limits Chair Dr. Carolyn Farb.
