Update: Suspect in Man's Death at 8400 Nairn Arrested

October 13, 2015 - Houston police have arrested a suspect wanted in the death of a man found at 8400 Nairn about 11:55 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 8).

The suspect, Mohamed Kamara Baimba (b/m, 23), is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court.  A current photo of Baimba is attached to this news release.

Baimba is accused in the death of Tahorma Stephen Gboyah, 58, of the above address.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer M. Burrow reported:

A friend of Mr. Gboyah became concerned after she called him multiple times with no answer.  Gboyah had been ill the previous week and the friend went to his residence to check on him.  When she arrived, she knocked on the door and then entered.  She continued through the apartment until she found Gboyah deceased in the bedroom.    Gboyah had suffered blunt force trauma and was found on the floor.  Houston Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced Gboyah deceased.

Investigators learned Baimba had been staying with Gboyah for several days prior to his death.  Additional evidence at the scene, as well as witness statements, led to charges filed against Mohamed Baimba.  He was traveling in a gold Honda Accord that belonged to Gboyah.

On Friday (Oct. 9), Baimba was arrested while driving the wanted vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.
