Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6600 Tarnef


August 15, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 6600 Tarnef about 7:20 a.m. today.  

The male victim, 4, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Ashford reported:  

The driver of a black GMC Arcadia was traveling northbound on Tarnef when she struck a male walking west in the crosswalk on De Moss.  A preliminary investigation determined the victim failed to yield the right of way to traffic when he was struck.  The driver of the GMC, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and released without charges.    

The investigation is continuing.
