Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 18251 Gulf Freeway


June 13, 2016 - The fatal stabbing of a male at 18251 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (June 12) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Officer S. Sylvester reported:

About 2 a.m., a male was returning home to an encampment behind a business at the above address.  Upon his return, the male found an unknown male sleeping in his bed.  Upon being confronted, the unknown male attacked and began choking the encampment's owner as well as shooting him repeatedly in the head and body with a BB gun.  The owner then produced a pocket knife and began using it in an attempt to defend himself.  The unknown male then attempted to cut the owner with a machete found in the encampment.

The owner freed himself from the unknown male and advised he was going to get help.  He then located individuals who helped him call 911.  Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the male dead at the scene.
