June 27, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 4900 East Crosstimbers about 1:05 p.m. on Sunday (June 26).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 26, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer P. Ngo reported:

The victim was driving a white Nissan Altima westbound on East Crosstimbers and stopped at a red light at the intersection at Lockwood.  Another vehicle, a black GMC 1500 truck was stopped alongside the Altima.  When the light turned green, both vehicles proceeded through the intersection.  At that time, the driver of a black Honda Accord, traveling northbound on Lockwood, ran the red light and struck the Altima.  The Altima then struck the GMC truck and both vehicles spun.  Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Altima deceased.  No one else was injured.  The driver of the Accord, described only as a black male, fled the scene on foot and is wanted at this time.
