Investigation into Shooting Incident at 11900 City Park Central Lane

May 23, 2016 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which a suspect pointed a gun at a Harris County sheriff's deputy, who discharged his weapon at 11900 City Park Central Lane at about 10 a.m. last Friday (May 20).
The off-duty Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputy was not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Officer S. Sylvester reported:

An off-duty sheriff's deputy witnessed a suspect attempting to burglarize a vehicle in a leasing office parking lot at the above address.  Witnesses and the off-duty deputy observed the suspect with a pistol at his side.  The deputy announced his presence and, at that time, a second male driving the suspect vehicle brandished a pistol and pointed it at the deputy.  The deputy, fearing for his life and safety, discharged his weapon at both suspects.  The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle.
The suspects are described only as black males, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, and last seen driving away in a white, four-door sedan.  The vehicle possibly has a bullet strike to the passenger side door.

As is customary in officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division.

Anyone with information on the wanted suspects is encouraged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
