Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6900 Southwest Freeway


September 7, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 6900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 10:45 a.m. today (September 7).  

The male victim, 33, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.   

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Best reported:  

The victim was walking in an unknown direction on the Southwest Freeway service road when he was struck by a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck turning westbound at the intersection of Bellerive.  The driver did not stop and fled the scene.  HFD paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
