Sunday, March 18, 2012

Tour de Houston Presented by Apache Corporation, the annual fundraising bike ride, will take place Sunday, March 18, 2012. The severe drought conditions spreading throughout Texas have dramatically increased the need to protect our parks and green spaces. Funds raised from this year’s ride will benefit Houston’s reforestation efforts through our non-profit partner, Houston Parks Board, dedicated to creating, improving and protecting parkland in the greater Houston region.
The route will take riders on a journey through Houston’s historic East End, the Ship Channel and Brady’s Landing, Ellington Airport, Johnson Space Center to Clear Lake and back to City Hall.
While Tour de Houston Presented by Apache Corporation is a fundraising ride, it also serves as a recommended ride for the BP MS 150. We encourage BP MS 150 participants to participate in the many recommended rides offered throughout the Houston area.

What Others Have Said
- This was really a great ride - thank you to all the volunteers and police officers who made it possible. All the workers were friendly and cheerful. What a thrill to ride through the streets of Houston. Usually these organized rides are not worth the money, but this was priceless! My civic pride is bursting!
- The tour was a wonderful event - congratulations to you and all involved. Routes were well chosen, and showed me a few parts of the city I hadn't seen before including some occasional gems.
- What a fabulous success the Tour de Houston was. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. I keep smiling every time I think about it. The image of bikers packing 3/4 of the streets surrounding City Hall is burned into my mind. What a GREAT thing for the City.
