Mayor's Back 2 School Fest

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Mayor’s Back 2 School Fest presented by Shell! The event will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Please ensure you report to the event on time for check in. Please review the 2025 waiver (.pdf) and complete all the fields. There will be a volunteer orientation at a date to be determined. You will receive additional correspondence closer to the event date.

• A virtual volunteer orientation will be held Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m.
• The registration form below closes at 12:00 noon on July 29

A Few FAQs

1. Where do I shuttle park?
2. What time is my shift? Please call 832.393.0955 for confirmation.
3. Do you have seated volunteer positions? This event is spread over Halls A & B at the GRB and covers a lot of space.  There are very few seated assignments. We recommend wearing very comfortable shoes.
4. Can I bring my 10 year old child? While we appreciate teaching volunteerism at an early age, this event is fast paced and more suitable for children 15 and up.
5. Can I attend the event and volunteer? Yes, you are welcome to attend the event before or after your shift. Please make sure to register at: www.houstontx.gov/btsf/registermystudent.html.
6. Our group wants to be assigned together, is that possible? Not always, we have a lot of ground to cover with this event, but we do try our best.
