Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2600 Southwest Freeway


August 3, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 2600 Southwest Freeway (South U. S. Highway 59) about 5:10 p.m. last Friday (July 31).
 
The male victim, 30, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kung and Officer L. Tram reported:  

The victim was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on the Southwest Freeway and weaving in and out of traffic.  The victim failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a black Ford edge sport utility vehicle, also traveling northbound.  The victim was then transported to the hospital where he died.  The driver of the Ford was not injured.
