Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11800 Hempstead Road


August 10, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11800 Hempstead Road that occurred about 5:50 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 9).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer A. Mata reported:

The drivers of a Ford F-150 pickup truck and and a white Honda Civic were traveling eastbound on Hempstead Road when, according to witnessses, they tried to pull in front of each other and slam on their brakes.  While doing so, the two vehicles struck and the driver of the Ford lost control of the pickup truck, swerved to the right and struck a pole.  The truck's driver and middle passenger were transported to Northwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in unknown conditions.  The remaining passenger was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Civic was not injured and remained at the scene.

Currently, there are no charges in this incident.  The investigation is continuing.
