Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 West Loop South



August 31, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1900 West Loop South (West Interstate Highway 610 South) about 12:50 a.m. on Saturday (August 29).  

The male victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer Y. Haq reported:  

A white Nissan Titan pickup truck and a blue Honda four-door sedan were traveling southbound on the West Loop when, for unknown reasons, the Honda veered into the path of the pickup.  The pickup truck then struck the Honda.  The driver of the Honda (victim) was transported to the hospital and later died.  The passenger in the Honda was also transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the Nissan was not injured.  

The investigation is continuing.
