Investigation into Fatal Crash at 600 Post Oak Boulevard

December 22, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 600 Post Oak Boulevard about 5:15 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 21).

The male victim, 38, was transported to Memorial Southwest Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer C. Tosso reported:

The victim was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Post Oak Lane when he failed to control his speed and struck a blue Lexus 250 that was waiting at the red light.  When the driver of the Lexus got out of his vehicle to exchange information, the driver of the Malibu, who may have suffered some sort of a medical episode, then drove into the Lexus and pushed it into the intersection.  Four other vehicles were subsequently struck when they became involved in the resulting crash in the intersection.  However, aside from the deceased Malibu driver, there were no other injuries.
