HPD Seeks Public's Help in Identifying Robbery Suspects

December 28, 2015 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying three robbery suspects who shot at an HPD officer at 4300 North Shepherd about 10:45 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 26).

The suspects, described only as three black males, fled the scene in a black four-door sedan with Texas license plates.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Hassig and Officer T. Ferguson reported:

An HPD officer was in uniform on his way to work in his private vehicle when a male, yelling for help, ran into traffic at the above address.  The officer stopped to assist the male who stated he was being robbed by three black males.  The officer then observed the suspects getting into a black sedan at the intersection of Westcross and North Shepherd.  While the driver of the sedan was fleeing, the front passenger, armed with a pistol, fired several shots at the uniformed officer.  The officer used his private vehicle as cover to protect himself and the citizen.  As a result, neither were wounded in this incident.

Anyone with information on the identities of the suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
