Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10300 Beaumont Highway

September 9, 2015 - Houston police say a man found deceased at 10300 Beaumont Highway about 8:55 a.m. today (September 9) was the victim of a hit-and-run crash.    

The victim, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer O. Lewis reported:  

A passer-by found the victim in a ditch near the above address.  A preliminary investigation determined the man was walking on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of Beamont Highway when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model.  The vehicle went into the ditch, but was able to drive away from the scene.  

At this time, there are no known witnesses and it is unknown when the crash occurred.
