Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 200 Aldine Bender

September 14, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men during a robbery attempt at 200 Aldine Bender that occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Sunday (September 13). 

The male victim, Erasmo Alaniz, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The identity of a male suspect, also pronounced dead at the scene, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and C. Elder reported:

Mr. Alaniz and a female witness were approached by two black male suspects while they were parked near the Subway at the above address.  One male suspect forced his way into the vehicle and pointed a gun at the female, demanding money and anything of value.  Alaniz and the suspect then shot each other multiple times as the female exited the vehicle.  The wounded suspect attempted to flee on foot, but collapsed nearby.  The second suspect fled in a nearby grey Dodge Charger eastbound on Aldine Bender.
