HPD Seeks Public's Help Identifying Suspects in Fatal Shooting at 8900 Burl Street

September 18, 2015 - Beginning at 7 a.m. TOMORROW (Saturday, Sept. 19), investigators from the HPD Homicide Division will join family and friends in asking for the public's help in identifying suspects in the May 6 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Adrian Madrigal.

A photo of Mr. Madrigal is attached to this news release.

The group will meet at 9502 Mesa before canvassing nearby neighborhoods, distributing fliers, and asking anyone who may have knowledge of Mr. Madrigal's death to come forward.

About 2 a.m. on May 6, Madrigal was found lying in the middle of the street at 8900 Burl, suffering a single gunshot wound to the head.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation determined Madrigal was driving his father's black 2007 GMC Yukon at the time of the his death.  A witness reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing an unknown black male driving a white 2000-2005, four-door, mid-sized sedan speeding away from where the gunshot was heard.  About two to five minutes later, a black GMC, matching the description of the one driven by Madrigal, was also seen leaving the area.  The GMC was recovered later that morning in a wooded area at a dead-end in the 8200 block of Snowden Street.

The unknown suspects are described only as two males, one of them a black male, driving a white sedan.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $15,000 for information leading to arrests and charges in this case.
