Surveillance Video, Composite Sketch of Suspect Wanted in Fatal Shooting, Additional Robberies
April 15, 2016 - Houston police have released surveillance video and a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 12306 Fondren (Inc. #039935816) about 12:50 p.m. on March 29. Surveillance video also shows the same suspect in the act of three additional armed robberies, immediately following the fatal shooting.
The suspect is described only as a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was wearing sagging tan pants, a grey hoodie and distinctive light blue shoes. Often, his blue and white checkered boxer shorts can be seen. In all four incidents, he was armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release. In the first incident, Tri Minh Nguyen, 36, was fatally shot during a robbery attempt at Wahoo's Fish N Wings at 12306 Fondren. Mr. Nguyen, the owner of the business, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect is believed to have then robbed a Shipley's Donuts at 8802 Stella Link (Inc. #039960016). In addition to matching the suspect description in the killing of Mr. Nguyen, the suspect is seen to flee the restaurant in a gold two-door vehicle, southbound on Stella Link.
The suspect then robbed a Food Dollar at 13210 South Post Oak (Inc. #039969116). He can also be seen fleeing in the same gold vehicle.
The last aggravated robbery took place at the New China Restaurant at 6302 State Highway 6 in Missouri City. The same gold vehicle can be seen passing the restaurant and parking in the parking lot. The suspect then exits the passenger door before entering the restaurant and robbing the owner. As the suspect flees, the owner chases the suspect who can be seen entering the passenger side of the gold vehicle.
