Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 308 De Haven
August 1, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a juvenile male at 308 De Haven about 9:25 p.m. on Sunday (July 31).
The victim, 11, was transported to an area hospital where, at this time, he remains in critical condition.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers T. Andrade and B. Nabors reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found HFD paramedics providing medical assistance to a juvenile male (victim) who appeared to have been shot. The victim was then transported to the hospital.
Based upon statements from several witnesses in the residence at the time of the incident, the shooting appears to be accidental. No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
