Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11600 East FM 1960


December 5, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11600 East FM 1960 at about 7:05 p.m. on Saturday (December 3).

The identities of the victims, a boy, 7, and a woman, 25, are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer A. Michon reported:

A male driving a white GMC Yukon westbound on East FM 1960, failed to maintain a single lane and struck the side of a grey Mazda 3.  The Mazda then crossed into the eastbound lanes of FM 1960 and struck a red Dodge truck.  The driver and three victims inside the Mazda were all transported to the hospital where the female and male juvenile victim were pronounced dead.  The driver of the Dodge was also transported to an area hospital.  All victims were listed in critical condition.  

The driver of the GMC did not show signs of intoxication at the scene and was transported to the hospital for a voluntary blood draw.

The investigation is continuing.
