Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 5200 Westheimer


December 12, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 5200 Westheimer about 5:05 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 11).

The suspect, Marrieund Elaine Chambers (b/f, 43), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 208th State District Court.  A photo of Chambers is attached to this news release.

The identity of the female victim, 45, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Tran reported:

Chambers was driving a gray Nissan Sentra westbound at the above address when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a curb.  The victim, a right rear passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Chambers was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, determined to be intoxicated and charged.

The investigation is continuing.
