Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5900 Little York


December 12, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5900 Little York about 7:40 a.m. today.  

The male victim, 4 years old, was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer L. Ho reported:  

The female driver of an orange Dodge Caliber was traveling east on Little York and ran the red light at the intersection of Homestead.  The vehicle hydroplaned to the left, left the roadway and struck a light pole.  The victim, a passenger in the Dodge, was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased.  The driver was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.  Three other child passengers in the car were transported to Texas Children's Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
