Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 6200 Bissonnet



February 29, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 6200 Bissonnet about 2:35 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 28).  

The suspect, Williams Lemus (H/m, 37), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 230th State District Court.  A photo of suspect Lemus is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer J. Crisler reported:

The victim was a front seat passenger in a gray Mitsubishi Lancer traveling east on Bissonnet when the male driver (Lemus) lost control and struck a tree in the median.  Paramedics pronounced the female dead at the scene.  Lemus initially claimed someone struck his vehicle from behind.  He was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital for minor injuries.  

Further investigation determined Lemus was impaired.  He was arrested and subsequently charged.
