Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11400 North Freeway
Feburary 1, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 4 p.m. on Wednesday (January 31).
The identity of the male victim, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Coke reported:
The driver of a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling northbound on the North Freeway service road and struck a bicyclist traveling westbound on Aldine Bender Road. The bicyclist died at the scene.
Further investigation determined the bicyclist (victim) ran the red light at the intersection of the North Freeway. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene, was determined not to be intoxicated and was then released.
