UPDATE: Additional Surveillance Photos Released in Fatal Shooting at 9828 Blackhawk

January 23, 2017 - Houston police have released additional surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 9828 Blackhawk about 1:05 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 20).

The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a long-sleeve gray Nike shirt, light colored pants, and white sneakers.  He is believed to be the driver of the vehicle used in the shooting.  Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.

A surveillance photo released on Saturday (Jan. 20) of a second suspect (believed shooter) depicts a black male wearing a gray hoodie and black pants with a white stripe running down the leg.  He and the driver were last seen driving a gold-colored four-door sedan.  The sedan was later recovered by investigators.

The victim, That Huu Le, 75, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Barr and M. Perez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a grocery store parking lot at the above address.  Upon arrival, they learned the victim, Mr. Le, had been transported to an area hospital where he died.

Further investigation revealed the two suspects had followed Le to the parking lot from a nearby bank.  Bank surveillance photos show the driver waiting in line but not making a transaction.  He eventually sits down as the victim, Le, makes a withdrawal and then follows Le out of the bank.

The suspects then followed Le to the grocery store parking lot where one suspect approached Le as he was exiting his vehicle.  A short altercation took place and Le was shot multiple times.  Both suspects then fled in the gold-colored sedan.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects or this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
