      HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer L. Ferguson reported:

      The victim, a pedestrian, was struck and killed as he walked eastbound on the North Loop. An unidentified motorist fled the scene after striking and killing the victim. The suspected hit-and-run vehicle was recovered abandoned on Airline near the North Loop a short time later.

      Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Mobility Incident Management Division's, Hit-and-Run Section at 713-247-4065 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

      The investigation is continuing.

UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting of Female Found at 11507 Hughes Road

September 3, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 11507 Hughes Road about 10 p.m. on August 5.  

The suspect, David W. Ellison (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Brooke Ashley Flores, 28, who died at the scene.  

A booking photo of Ellison is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Nguyen and W. Huff reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle found by a security guard in the parking lot of a community center at the above address.  Officers located the vehicle and found the victim unresponsive in the back passenger seat.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman, later identified as Ms. Flores, deceased from gunshot wounds.  

Further investigation identified Ellison as a suspect in this case.  He was arrested on Wednesday (September 2) and subsequently charged for his role in Flores' death.
