HFD Incident Update:Strip Center Fire in The Mid West Area

INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $50 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $55 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light smoke coming from strip center. Crews forced entry into several of the center’s units and located the fire in a YMCA drop off location for donations. The firefighters extinguished the fire and contained it to one corner. A fan was used to ventilate the smoke from the building and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. CenterPoint was also notified for the integrity of the wiring system. Firefighters from Stations 2, 28, 68, 3, 10, 51, 60, 38 and Rehab 17 responded to this incident.
