Income

Higher income households have increased significantly over the last 20 years inside Loop 610. The bulk of those increases have generally occurred in the western half of Loop 610. The southeast portion of Loop 610 is experiencing a slight increase as well. The higher income households correlate to the pattern of where higher educated Houstonians live inside Loop 610. By 2010, the number of residents that make above the median household income have increased to comprise approximately half of those living inside Loop 610.

• In 2000, Median Household Income rose 7% over 1990’s MHI of $43,844. However, it fell 9% by 2009 ending at $42,797.
