Off-Street Parking Ordinance

Off-Street Parking Requirements

As defined by the Houston Municipal Code, Chapter 26 Article VIII, Off-Street Parking and Loading, is enacted for the purpose of requiring all persons developing new and redeveloping existing buildings or tracts within the city to provide sufficient off-street parking and loading facilities at all times the buildings or tracts are in use or occupied.

See Chapter 26 Section 492, or click the link below, for a table identifying the required off-street parking spaces for certain types of use classifications. To apply for a variance addressing these requirements, refer to the Variance Reference Guide.

A Planning Commission public hearing for this item has been established for January 19, 2017. The hearing will be held at 2:30 p.m. in City Hall annex chambers, 900 Bagby.
