The Houston Area Bank Robbery Task Force
was created on November 1, 1996 to address an increasing
number of bank robberies in the greater Houston area. The
Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Houston
Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
and the Harris County Sheriff's Department. The goals of
the Task Force are to coordinate the investigative efforts
already expended by all three agencies, to take full advantage
of the assets of the state and federal justice systems,
and to provide one central clearing-house for information
regarding bank robberies.
The Houston Area Bank Robbery Task Force
operates out of the local field office of the F.B.I. at
2500 East T. C. Jester and can be contacted at (713) 693-5000.
