Fatal Traffic Accident at 6500 Chimney Rock

December 14, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6500 block of Chimney Rock about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 12).

The identity of the male victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Divsion Sergeant J. Law and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The victim was driving a blue Lexus LS 400 southbound on Chimney Rock when he lost control of the vehicle, went across the northbound lanes of Chimney Rock, rolled and then came to a stop in a parking lot. The driver was transported to the hospital.

Officers located three spent bullet casings in the roadway and found what appeared to be a possible bullet hole in the vehicle's front license plate. There were no signs of a gunshot wound found on the victim.

There are no known witnesses to the accident at this time.
